Farewell to Longton Drop-in

Sanctus Longton 1.jpg

After 3 amazing years of welcoming and supporting asylum seekers and refugees in Longton, the Sanctus drop-in at the Methodist Central Hall has closed. Numbers of those attending had been steadily decreasing, partly because fewer asylum seeking families are being housed in Longton and also because other families have become established and moved on ... which is a good thing.

Our Longton Sanctus drop in opened it’s doors for the last time on Monday 22nd July, and it was lovely to have so many people coming together to celebrate the last 3 years, to share a few stories and even a few tears.

Watch this space for a few quotes from our ‘memory book’.

The Longton volunteers enjoyed a lovely 'thank you' lunch at Trentham Gardens after the drop in!
