Home Office reporting centre in Stoke-on-Trent CLOSED

Asylum seekers in Stoke used to report at their local Police station and other enforcement activities were carried out at Bennett House where First Tier Tribunal hearings were carried out. At the beginning of 2017 the reporting venue for all those in Stoke was moved to the Northern Area Custody Suite based in Etruria, Stoke on Trent.

At the beginning of August 2018 individuals began to access various voluntary sector agencies in Stoke asking for assistance and advice as they had received a new BAIL 201 form stating they were to report at Dallas Court in Manchester which is in fact in Salford. Some had a window of just a few days before they needed to go there. A number of these people must report weekly or fortnightly.

There was no information regarding how to get there or how they were to pay the travel costs. 

There was no notification or consultation with local stakeholders.
