30 June - NHS Conference Symphony for Hidden voices

North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare Trust organised its first ever Inclusion Conference on Friday 30 June at Port Vale.

Symphony for Hidden Voices was an opportunity to share stories of a number of different individuals whose lives (as all our lives are) have been shaped in different ways by their experiences of both inclusion and exclusion. The conference aims to develop the way in which services are delivered through shared understanding.

Deana and Sally from Sanctus spoke about asylum seekers and refugee support, and other speakers included:

  • Richard France, DEAFnoise: Story of a failed jumper

  • Roger Mackenzie, UNISON Assistant General Secretary

  • Abby Crawford, Stonewall LGBT Charity

  • Jenny Harvey, UNISON and Staff Side Chair, NS Health Trusts

  • Sophia Hussain, Senior Pharmacist, NSCHT
