Refugees, Asylum seekers and the Wealth of the Nations - Sally Smith at TedX

Refugees, and their contribution to society, was the subject of a TED Talk by Sally Smith at TEDxStoke2016 on 3 December 2016.

Sally’s talk urges listeners to stop thinking of refugees as a potential problem, and asks what would happen if we began to recognise the great gifts brought to us by those who have come seeking safety?

TED Talks are an online phenomenon which has featured speakers from Bill Gates to Bono.  Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College hosted a local TEDx with eleven local speakers, aiming to give an international airing to local issues and help raise the profile of the City.  The event was the brainchild of Sixth Form College tutor David Murray.
