Celebrating Nowruz 2017, Persian New Year

We had an amazing Nowruz (Persian New Year) celebration on Saturday evening.  The company was amazing, the food was plentiful and the entertainment was – entertaining!

A very big thank you to all involved in making it such a success.  I know that hours and hours of work went into the planning and also on the day.

Over £300 was raised in donations for the work of Sanctus and a visitor from the Church Urban Fund (they funded the event) was very impressed with everything that was achieved.  If we do this again next year I think we will need a bigger venue.

See the video below for highlights, and visit the Sanctus St Marks channel on Youtube for more clips.

Nowruz (meaning "new day") is the name of the Iranian New Year, also known as the Persian New Year.

The date moves each year, and in 2018 will be 20th March.
